Simonelli Academy has been a meeting place and centre of technical and professional knowledge among coffee operators from more than 120 countries in the world for more than twenty years. This is now strengthened with a new and ambitious project. The goal, from this year, is to spread the knowledge of coffee "secrets", including to young people. Simonelli Youth Academy has been created, a program specifically dedicated to young and promising baristas who love coffee and want to deepen their skills.
By providing 6 scholarships, Simonelli Youth Academy offers young baristas the opportunity to follow a complete coffee education program for a successful career in this sector.
"It is an ambitious project - declared Lauro Fioretti, program manager and course lecturer - that intends to bring new brilliant minds into this sector and consequently allow the industry to continuously grow and strengthen itself, spreading the culture of quality coffee with a growing number of professionals".
The six scholarships offered by Simonelli Group are reserved for young people between the ages of 18 and 30. The winners will have free access to the training program, useful for obtaining a Coffee Skills Program certification of SCA (Specialty Coffee Association).
To participate by 9 April 2018 send to firstname.lastname@example.org, a video of maximum 90 seconds in which the candidate demonstrates their passion for coffee to convince the team of Simonelli Youth Academy teachers that they are the right person for this training project (download now the subscription form and the rules).
"The courses offered by the Simonelli Youth Academy - says Dario Ciarlantini, project coordinator - are mainly based on SCA's Coffee Skills Program and are the right path for good learning as they transversely address all the issues related to coffee. This is a preferential way to access the world of work and add great value to your coffee curriculum".
In addition to Lauro Fioretti and Dario Ciarlantini the Simonelli Youth Academy team teachers is composed of Marco Cremonese (expert in green coffee and roasting, AST trainer and great connoisseur of coffee) and Francesca Bieker (quality control and trainer at Sandalj Coffee Academy and AST trainer).
