World Barista Championship is a non-profit organisation created to defend and control tangible and intellectual proprietary rights of the WBC and to coordinate and administrate its activities and events. WBC is born of the SCAA Speciality Coffee Association of America and SCAE Speciality Coffee Association of Europe, which are still responsible for appointing the Board.

SCAE is the European-based association for Speciality Coffee and with a continuously increasing number of affiliated members – those seeking excellence in coffee – it is continuing to grow. The SCAE has members in more than 70 countries, forming a world network that is kept up to date on the latest developments in the speciality coffee field. Continuous innovation is also a prerogative of Nuova Simonelli, which is a member of the SCAE, contributing to increasing the knowledge of the coffee world.

Since 1998, the Istituto Nazionale Espresso Italiano – Italian Espresso Institute, is committed to defending quality espresso through certification recognised by the CSQA (conformity certificate number 214 of 24 September 1999, DTP 008 and. 1), which specifies exclusive use of certified blends, qualified grinders and machines and specially trained operators. Nuova Simonelli is a member and intends to pursue the aims of the institute in increasing the culture of Italian espresso coffee throughout the world. This is why Nuova Simonelli is actively involved in the regular organisation of seminars and training courses involving coffee tasting.
